Villa Crespia has vineyards in each of the six functional units of Franciacorta. In the winery, the grapes are vinified separately and then the wines are assembled according to their origin..
Every wine is witness of a single vineyard landscape
The vineyards of Brolese are called Averoldi and San Faustino, and lie on siltloam soil with fine deposits. The climate is continental with fairly harsh winters and warm summers.
The vineyards of Novalia are called Bettolino, Martore, Santo Stefano, Casina, Torbiere. They lie on soils of glacial and fluvial origin. Clay loam soils, with frequent presence of gravely sediments. The climate is continental.
The vineyard of Miolo is called San Lorenzo, and it lies on a soil of alluvial origin. It is charac-terized by deep, moderately clayey soil with good water retention. The climate is continental.
The vineyards of NumeroZero are called Caneva, Corte, Crespia, Gazzolo, Pozzolo, Rampa-neto, Valla, Valli, Pozzolo; and they lie on deep, hilly, morenic soils. The climate is mediterranean.
The vineyard of Cisiolo is called Fornaci. It lies on a clayey soil, poor in sediments, rich in iron and slightly acidic; these characteristics, together with a notable fertility and the presence of a cool climate, make the terrain particularly adapted to the cultivation of Pinot noir.
The vineyards of Cesonato are called Novali, Favento, Ai Prati, Pole, Ciochet. They lie on the high hills of morenic origin. The soil is characterized by the presence of numerous cobblestone of fluvial origin. Summer weather windy.
We chose where to plant our vineyards in Franciacorta so that they could represent all its pedoclimatic variability. We planted vineyards up to 350 m s.l.m with exposure also to the north, towards Lake Iseo. Each vineyard respects the vocational nature of the pedo-landscape with grapes and clones able to make these differences emerge and to allow vines to bring variability and personality to the winery.
Since its inception, Villa Crespia has distinguished itself by the choice of making “zero dosage” wines, when it was still a kind of taste not so widespread and known, but still mostly consumed by experts and enthusiasts. From the beginning, Villa Crespia produces two Zero Dosage Franciacorta: NumberoZero that is 100% Chardonnay and Cisiolo a 100% Pinot noir Franciacorta. Our Zero Dosage Franciacorta are born in the vineyard and do not require shipping liquor to reach their maximum expression. With Zero Dosage we aims to tell the landscape in its extreme transparency that is why after the degorgement we fill the bottle with the same wine, without using liquer de expedition at all.SPECIFICATIONS NUMEROZERO

Millè represents a new way of conceiving the Metodo Franciacorta. Before being bottled to start the second alcoholic fermentation, typical of all Franciacorta, Millè is refined in steel for over 30 months while keeping the fine deposit rich in yeasts in constant stirring. Only then it is bottled for the second alcoholic fermentation. The steel refinement, before bottling, allows you to enjoy a Millesimé in its fresh and pleasant longevity.

From the 2002 vintage, the Franciacorta Riserva by Villa Crespia is a Pinot noir vinified in white with Zero Dosage. It is the selection of the best pinot noir grapes of our vineyard of Fornaci in Adro. A vineyard of 7 hectares completely planted with Pinot Noir grapes of French clones (origin: Burgundy and Champagne). Fornaci is probably the largest Pinot Noir vineyard in Franciacorta. The Riserva Francesco Iacono therefore originates from a cru and it is produced only in the best vintages in 1500 bottles. It represents the pride of Villa Crespia, expressing the best of the Estate’s two main goals: Zero Dosage and Pinot Noir.
